”I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free. And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.” (Lee Greenwood, Proud to be an American)
Happy 4th of July, everyone! Today’s look is all about stripes and is fitting for celebrating Independence Day.
Stripes have come a long way since it’s origins began in the 1800s as prison uniforms. Thank goodness fashion has evolved and isn’t considered as prison garb any longer.
Stripes are instantly chic and a good pace to start for those wanting to venture into patterns. It’s a simple pattern, not overwhelming and yet makes a statement.
The above dress is a pink, white and blue button up collar, polo style dress by Tommy Hilfiger. I like how the dress has Tommy Hilfiger’s traditional red, white and blue theme. However, instead of the red, the top stripes are a delicate baby pink which adds a feminine twist.
As a teen in the 90’s (I’m dating myself a bit here) I wore the Tommy brand with pride. I’m thrilled to see it back and gaining popularity again with the new generation.
This style of dress is casual and ideal for running errands, summer bbqs, and of course… the 4th of July.
Hope everyone is enjoying their day! Thanks for visiting my blog!
